General carpool Information

We prefer that all parents use the carpool to drop off and pick up their child or children. After much consideration we feel this is the safest procedure for the children to enter and exit the school. Carpool is NOT mandatory. If you would like to walk your child into the building in the morning, please park your car in the parking spaces adjacent to the trailer in the back of the church. Please walk your child on the sidewalk past the playground to the preschool back door, which will be unlocked at 9:30 a.m. Please do not cross the parking lot while we are conducting carpool. If you prefer to pick your child up in the afternoon, please come to their classroom by 1:10 p.m., or meet them at the trailer or preschool double doors at

1:20 p.m. No parents are permitted in the building lobby once we have begun afternoon carpool.

We remind all parents to carefully observe the opening and closing hours of the preschool. Children are upset when they arrive late and class activities have already begun. In the afternoon they often feel stranded when left after all the other children have gone home. Afternoon carpool begins at 1:20 p.m. and continues until 1:40 p.m. If you arrive at the school after 1:40 p.m. and carpool is over, your child will be taken to Happy Hour and you will be billed accordingly.

While I realize that this letter contains a lot of information and may seem confusing, please remember that my primary concern is, and always will be, your child's safety!

Please call me if you have any questions. As always, I am open to any suggestions, however you will have to write the letter and draw the diagrams! (just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Car Pool Rules

1. Please drive slowly -- never speed in the parking lot.

2. Never pull around or pass other cars that are waiting to pick up or drop off their child. You may think that this should not be a problem if you are careful, but could you imagine if everyone did this - we would have a mess in the parking lot.

3. Do not get out of your car unless asked to do so.

4. Display your car pool sign so that it is visible to the preschool staff.

5. Remember - car seats or booster chairs are mandatory. You must use the car seats according to the manufacture instructions! Please refer to the "Georgia child passenger safety laws: the bottom line" at the end of this section.

6. Children must remain in their car seat until a staff member releases them. Please do not let you child "drive" you car. They are not old enough!!

7. For the safety of everyone cell phone usage in the car pool line is strictly prohibited!

8. Please do not leave your other children in the car while you walk in your preschool child. Nothing good can happen when you leave your children alone in a car!

Morning Carpool

Morning carpool begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. Children are welcome into their classrooms at this time, which is after the teachers have completed their morning preparation time. Please drive slowly counter-clockwise around the parking lot until the passenger side of your vehicle faces the double doors. A teacher will come to your car and greet your child. Children must not leave their car until a teacher has come to assist them. As we get the children out of the car, please feel free to communicate any necessary information with the Director or teacher. All children are escorted to their classrooms.

All cars should enter the church parking lot and line up one after the other in front of the preschool double doors. Obviously, I do not want any cars to wait out on State Bridge Road or block the new entrance to the church. Therefore, ALL cars should proceed toward the back of the church parking lot and circle around the light pole. Please do not stop at the left turn to proceed to the preschool double doors even if you see that no cars are waiting and that you will be next in line. It takes only a few cars to come in behind you to block the entrance.

Parents who prefer to walk their child into the building have two options. You may park in the back of the building adjacent to the trailer and walk your child in on the sidewalk past the play ground toward the back of the preschool building. The back door will be unlocked at 9:30 a.m. If you park in the back, when you exit the back parking lot you must enter into the carpool line and follow in the carpool line around to the three-way intersection(stop) and instead of turning right to come to the preschool doors continue straight to exit the church parking lot. Under no circumstances should you pass other cars on the left who are waiting in the carpool line. If you are in a hurry, and do not want to wait in the carpool line, you may park out front in the spaces to the left of the front entrance. If you park out front you will have to walk you child across the front lawn to the preschool double doors.

Either way, you must escort your child to their classroom. Please do not walk your child through the parking lot especially if you must cross in front of cars waiting in the carpool line.

Afternoon Carpool

Afternoon carpool begins at 1:20 p.m. Please follow the instructions below and wait in line until your child is brought to you and placed in their car seat. Afternoon carpool continues until 1:40 p.m. Children who are not picked up by the end of carpool will be brought to the daily Happy Hour and you will be charged accordingly. [If you know you are going to be delayed (due to unexpected events, for example, a physician's appointment running unusually long or automobile trouble or accident) please contact your child's teacher and/or the Director right away.]

1. The following classes are to be picked up at the trailer located behind the church:

Ms. Sarah - Young 5's Ms. Lisa - Older 4's

Ms. Carole - 4's Ms. Jovita - Young 4's

Ms. Jenni - Older 3 Ms. Kim - 3 M/W/F

Please enter the church parking lot at the traffic light and proceed to the back of the church carefully. Please be sure to stop at the 3 way intersection. Remain behind the car in front of you proceeding counter clock wise where you will stop in front of the trailer for your child to be loaded into you car.

2. All other students are to be picked up at the educational building foyer.

Please enter the church parking lot at the traffic light and stay to the far left as you will be following the cars clock wise around the parking lot so that your drivers side door will be at the preschool double doors as we load your child into your car. (This is the opposite way from morning carpool.

3. If you have children in both locations - PLEASE PICK-UP THE CHILDREN WHO ARE AT THE EDUCATIONAL BUILDING FIRST. Once the younger children are picked up, those who must go to the trailer area should turn left after coming to a complete stop. This will prevent cars leaving the back car pool line from passing the other cars that are waiting to make a right hand turn. I could foresee a head on collision in our parking lot!

If you prefer to park your car and walk to the trailer or preschool lobby to pick up your child, please park in the parking spaces on the left immediately after proceeding through the "3-way intersection". If you park in these spaces you will be able to walk to pick up your child without having to cross the parking lots.
