General carpool Information
We prefer that all parents use the carpool to drop off and pick up their child or children. After much consideration we feel this is the safest procedure for the children to enter and exit the school. Carpool is NOT mandatory. If you would like to walk your child into the building in the morning, please park your car in the parking spaces adjacent to the trailer in the back of the church. Please walk your child on the sidewalk past the playground to the preschool back door, which will be unlocked at 9:30 a.m. Please do not cross the parking lot while we are conducting carpool. If you prefer to pick your child up in the afternoon, please come to their classroom by 1:10 p.m., or meet them at the trailer or preschool double doors at 1:20 p.m. No parents are permitted in the building lobby once we have begun afternoon carpool.
We remind all parents to carefully observe the opening and closing hours of the preschool. Children are upset when they arrive late and class activities have already begun. In the afternoon they often feel stranded when left after all the other children have gone home. Afternoon carpool begins at 1:20 p.m. and continues until 1:40 p.m. If you arrive at the school after 1:40 p.m. and carpool is over, your child will be taken to Happy Hour and you will be billed accordingly.
While I realize that this letter contains a lot of information and may seem confusing, please remember that my primary concern is, and always will be, your child's safety!
Please call me if you have any questions. As always, I am open to any suggestions, however you will have to write the letter and draw the diagrams! (just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Car Pool Rules
1. Please drive slowly -- never speed in the parking lot.
2. Never pull around or pass other cars that are waiting to pick up or drop off their child. You may think that this should not be a problem if you are careful, but could you imagine if everyone did this - we would have a mess in the parking lot.
3. Do not get out of your car unless asked to do so.
4. Display your car pool sign so that it is visible to the preschool staff.
5. Remember - car seats or booster chairs are mandatory. You must use the car seats according to the manufacture instructions! Please refer to the "Georgia child passenger safety laws: the bottom line" at the end of this section.
6. Children must remain in their car seat until a staff member releases them. Please do not let you child "drive" you car. They are not old enough!!
7. For the safety of everyone cell phone usage in the car pool line is strictly prohibited!
8. Please do not leave your other children in the car while you walk in your preschool child. Nothing good can happen when you leave your children alone in a car!
